Kalipo returns to Ki Records with two new singles – highlighting the versatility and cohesion of his upcoming EP.

Kalipo, one of the most versatile and active electronic music producers in Berlin, known for his releases on Ki Records, Iptamenos Discos, Get Physical, and as a member and producer of bands such as the legendary German Electropunk band Frittenbude or the up-and-coming Dark Disco trio Dina Summer, releases his new solo EP ‘Indigo’ on Christian Löffler's label Ki Records on April 12th, creating once again his very own world of electronic music. The EP features two tracks – ‘Indigo’ and ‘Mandarin Sky’ – that seem very different at first glance but come together in the depth and diversity of Kalipo’s productions.

The lead single ‘Indigo’, inspired by the organic pigment containing several shades spanning from blue to violet and lies at the edge of the visible colour spectrum for humans, is an epic and fast-paced club track with an increasingly intensifying string intro and a fabulous synth sequence that culminates in a massive kick. The arpeggiated lead creates this ever-evolving track with an infectious energy that transports listeners to the heart of the dancefloor. It's crafted for epic and grand festival experiences, like the transcendent sunrise moments, as the track captures the euphoria of the night’s end and the promise of a new day.

The other track, ‘Mandarin Sky’, takes inspiration from the Sahara dust storms, during which the wind colours the skies of Europe orange with Sahara dust, creating a sultry, slightly oppressive, and warm atmosphere. This track is less club-oriented and is instead best enjoyed alone on a high-quality sound system. Beginning with a melancholic piano pattern juxtaposed with a harder beat, ‘Mandarine Sky’ builds to a cinematic climax, marked by distorted brass and strings, showcasing Kalipo's ability to enthral listeners with his emotive compositions – perhaps creating one of the most captivating moments of Kalipo’s works so far.
Together, 'Indigo' and 'Mandarine Sky' showcase Kalipo's versatility as a producer and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Whether igniting dance floors or encouraging introspection, Kalipo leaves an unforgettable impression with every creation.
